Nine new electric car clubs have launched across Suffolk, giving communities affordable access to electric vehicles (EVs).
Funded by Suffolk Public Sector Leaders, these clubs aim to improve mobility, cut emissions, and enhance air quality - each shared EV can replace up to 20 private cars on the road. For school staff, this offers a practical way to reduce travel costs and carbon footprints, whether for meetings or personal use. It’s also a great opportunity to test-drive an EV if you haven’t already!
Suffolk residents can enjoy free membership and £15 credit by signing up with promo code SUFFOLK15. Simply choose Standard membership and enter the code when prompted.Car clubs are available in Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Hadleigh, Sudbury, Stowmarket, Needham Market, Ipswich, and Woodbridge.
Classroom Activity:
Turn this into a maths and geography challenge: ask students to calculate potential CO₂ savings if 20 petrol cars are replaced by one EV. Follow up with a debate on whether car clubs are the future of transport, encouraging critical thinking about accessibility and sustainability.
