Suffolk is already feeling the effects of climate change: rising sea levels threaten our coast, while biodiversity loss impacts ecosystems and livelihoods. Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, challenging infrastructure and communities. The Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan outlines urgent priorities to protect nature, reduce emissions, and build resilience for a sustainable future.
The Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan offers a path to a brighter, healthier future, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2030. However, the plan isn't just about reducing emissions; it's about building a better future for our county where our environment thrives, our economy prospers, and our communities flourish.

There are five themes within the plan including, sustainable homes, low carbon transport, cleaner power and industrial and commercial energy. The Suffolk Sustainable Schools Network sits within the fifth theme of the plan - Collaborative Action. This theme aims to bring communities, schools, businesses, individuals, and families together and give them the tools, funding and knowledge to take action.
By working together, embracing innovation, and taking decisive action, we can turn the climate challenge into an opportunity to create a truly sustainable and resilient Suffolk for generations to come. Let's seize this moment and embark on this vital journey together.
